Los pozos requieren bombas conectadas a la red el\u00e9ctrica o a generadores de gas\u00f3leo, elementos que en econom\u00edas menos avanzadas est\u00e1n fuera del alcance de la mayor\u00eda de los agricultores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Katie Taylor era una estudiante en una universidad de Estados Unidos, preocupada por los problemas que atravesaban los agricultores indios con sus regad\u00edos.<br>Su primer proyecto para ayudarlos consisti\u00f3 en un prototipo de riego por goteo de baja presi\u00f3n, pero pronto, tras hablar con los agricultores locales comprendi\u00f3 que el principal reto para ellos era extraer el agua del subsuelo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Fue entonces cuando se ali\u00f3 con dos compa\u00f1eros de clase para desarrollar una innovadora bomba de riego subterr\u00e1nea alimentada con&nbsp;energ\u00eda solar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El dispositivo final, dise\u00f1ado para ser instalado con facilidad, consta de dos paneles solares, una bomba de riego centr\u00edfuga sumergible y un controlador. Seg\u00fan Taylor, la clave de la eficiencia del sistema reside en la bomba centr\u00edfuga, que logra bombear el doble de agua que otras soluciones disponibles en la India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Otro de las claves es la ligereza de todo el equipo. La bomba pesa apenas cinco kilos, mientras que los paneles solares pueden llevarse a la espalda. La portabilidad fue uno de los objetivos desde el primer momento, ya que los agricultores procuran dormir con todas sus pertenencias debido al gran n\u00famero de robos que se registran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Un sistema integral de riego fotovoltaico<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">En una l\u00ednea similar, un proyecto a escala europea para implantar regad\u00edos con energ\u00eda fotovoltaica. El sistema, que acaban de lanzar, consume un 30 % menos de agua. Con un coste energ\u00e9tico entre un 60 % y un 80 % menor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Las pruebas, con resultados alentadores, se han llevado a cabo en pa\u00edses sure\u00f1os como Espa\u00f1a, Portugal, Italia y Marruecos. A diferencia de la tecnolog\u00eda desarrollada por la startup de Taylor. Se trata de un sistema de riego de alta potencia que, en algunos casos, utiliza soluciones de suministro el\u00e9ctrico h\u00edbrido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La utilizaci\u00f3n de este tipo de sistemas de riego permitir\u00eda ahorrar hasta <br>20 000 millones de metros c\u00fabicos de agua al a\u00f1o.
