Se trata de un material ign\u00edfugo, resistente al moho y al agua y que puede alcanzar una dureza superior al hormig\u00f3n a igual peso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Su proceso de fabricaci\u00f3n, es m\u00e1s lento que el de otras soluciones constructivas como el hormig\u00f3n, pero es relativamente sencillo. Basta con inyectar el micelio vivo en un sustrato org\u00e1nico para que este crezca y adopte la forma deseada.<br>Luego, tras un tratamiento de calor para interrumpir el crecimiento se endurece y ya est\u00e1 listo para usarse. Adem\u00e1s, el sustrato puede crearse a partir de desechos de todo tipo, desde agr\u00edcolas hasta materiales procedentes de demoliciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Y no solo eso: el micelio puede adoptar cualquier tipo de forma en funci\u00f3n del molde elegido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u00bfSabes cu\u00e1l es la criatura viva m\u00e1s grande del mundo? La principal materia prima es la madera y los residuos con base de celulosa procedentes de la construcci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">El Biocycler es un container port\u00e1til que se puede trasladar a cualquier lugar con abundancia de residuos. La m\u00e1quina procesa la madera, elimina barnices y otros productos qu\u00edmicos y, finalmente, produce los ladrillos de micelio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Del MIT a la NASA<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Un lugar con dif\u00edcil acceso a materiales de construcci\u00f3n, es Marte. As\u00ed, estos proyectos centrados en el uso de hongos han despertado el inter\u00e9s de la NASA, que considera la micotectura como una alternativa viable para construir soluciones habitacionales en otros planetas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La agencia estadounidense est\u00e1 financiando un proyecto que se basa en el env\u00edo de algas y esporas de hongos al planeta rojo. Una vez all\u00ed, gracias al agua existente en el subsuelo, se podr\u00eda estimular el crecimiento de las algas.
