Adem\u00e1s de su dimensi\u00f3n est\u00e9tica, se utilizan en la industria debido a su gran dureza y tambi\u00e9n se est\u00e1n usando en la fabricaci\u00f3n de semiconductores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Una de sus aplicaciones emergentes es la&nbsp;purificaci\u00f3n del agua&nbsp;procedente de f\u00e1bricas. Normalmente, para el tratamiento de este tipo de aguas residuales se utilizan membranas de \u00f3smosis inversa. Sin embargo, las aguas de usos industriales suelen registrar temperaturas muy elevadas, lo que entorpece el funcionamiento de las membranas y el proceso de purificaci\u00f3n. Por eso, es preciso refrigerarlas primero, con el consiguiente gasto energ\u00e9tico. Luego, si se pretende reutilizaras, es necesario calentarlas de nuevo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">La soluci\u00f3n reside en los nanodiamantes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Investigadores han explorado alternativas para que las membranas funcionen con agua muy caliente. El uso de nanodiamantes ya se hab\u00eda probado anteriormente, pero no bajo este tipo de condiciones.<br>Para ello, el equipo explor\u00f3 entonces una nueva forma de incrustar los nanodiamantes. Les a\u00f1adieron aminas, un derivado del amon\u00edaco. Posteriormente, recurrieron a un ba\u00f1o de acetato de etilo que previene el agrupamiento de los nanodiamantes y preserva la estructura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Y finalmente, utilizaron un mon\u00f3mero que reaccionaba con las aminas y fijaba los nanodiamantes en la membrana. En las pruebas, la nueva membrana fue capaz de mantener su eficacia durante nueve horas a una temperatura de 75&nbsp;<sup>o<\/sup>C. As\u00ed, esta innovadora tecnolog\u00eda podr\u00eda abrir las puertas al tratamiento y reutilizaci\u00f3n de aguas industriales con una menor huella de carbono. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Vendas inteligentes fabricadas con nanodiamantes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Las propiedades de los nanodiamantes tambi\u00e9n tienen aplicaciones en el mundo de la medicina. Uno de los problemas de las vendas tradicionales es que se requiere retirarlas para comprobar si una herida se ha infectado, con las consiguientes molestias para el paciente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Pero se han propuesto una nueva generaci\u00f3n de vendajes inteligentes que podr\u00eda detectar procesos infecciosos. Una de las caracter\u00edsticas de una infecci\u00f3n es que se produce una subida en la temperatura de la piel y los diamantes son muy sensibles a la temperatura biol\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Los investigadores emplearon fibras de seda en las que integraron nanodiamantes por medio de un proceso de electrohilado. Al medir la temperatura del nuevo tejido de seda, cualquier m\u00e9dico podr\u00e1 determinar el estado de la herida. Y no solo eso, en las pruebas realizadas se ha comprobado que el material tiene propiedades antibacterianas. Adem\u00e1s, su estructura mantiene el flujo de ox\u00edgeno y nutrientes a la zona afectada. A pesar de los materiales empleados, los cient\u00edficos consideran que estas innovadoras vendas inteligentes podr\u00eda fabricarse con un coste razonable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
