La transferencia de calor se produce a trav\u00e9s de una placa met\u00e1lica o tubo que favorezca el intercambio entre fluidos sin que estos se mezclen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arvengtraining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/03.-Basics-of-Shell-Tube-Heat-Exchangers.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"381\" height=\"251\"\/><figcaption><sub>Flujo de fluido en un intercambiador de calor<\/sub><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tipos de intercambiadores de calor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-3a5faa42-42ba-43f1-aada-f36517b510fb\"><li>I<strong>ntercambiador de calor directo<\/strong>, donde ambos medios est\u00e1n en contacto directo entre s\u00ed. Se da por sentado que los medios no se mezclan. Un ejemplo de este tipo es una torre de enfriamiento, donde el agua se enfr\u00eda a trav\u00e9s del contacto directo con el aire.<\/li><li><strong>Intercambiador de calor indirecto<\/strong>, donde ambos medios est\u00e1n separados por una pared a trav\u00e9s de la cual se transfiere el calor.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/--F-_MOhUPwQ\/UdM4iA-Gj5I\/AAAAAAAAAKU\/BJqcuuzerJQ\/s450\/img_01.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption><sub>Intercambiador de calor directo.<\/sub><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funcionamiento de un intercambiador de calor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En la siguiente imagen se muestra  el principio de funcionamiento de los intercambiadores de calor de placas conjuntas de un paso para l\u00edquidos\/l\u00edquidos, donde los fluidos corren contracorriente a trav\u00e9s de este. El l\u00edquido caliente (ilustrado en rojo) normalmente entra por una de las conexiones superiores y sale por la conexi\u00f3n inferior. El l\u00edquido fr\u00edo (ilustrado en azul) entra por una de las conexiones inferiores y sale por la conexi\u00f3n de arriba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alfalaval.com\/globalassets\/images\/local\/colombia\/como-funciona-intercambiador-de-calor-de-placas-alfa-laval.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"442\" height=\"340\"\/><figcaption><sub>funcionamiento del intercambiador de calor.<\/sub><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A medida que los fluidos pasan a trav\u00e9s del intercambiador de calor, el calor se transfiere de los medios calientes a los medios fr\u00edos. El flujo de contracorriente permite las m\u00e1ximas posibilidades de recuperaci\u00f3n de calor y se puede lograr una aproximaci\u00f3n muy cercana a la temperatura. La temperatura cruzada tambi\u00e9n es posible, lo que significa que la salida caliente puede alcanzar una temperatura m\u00e1s baja que la salida fr\u00eda.
