Hasta ahora, esa radiaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica infrarroja se desaprovechaba, pero podr\u00eda convertirse en una fuente de energ\u00eda solar nocturna y una nueva energ\u00eda verde&nbsp;que compense las limitaciones de la tecnolog\u00eda fotovoltaica actual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Al fin y al cabo, la falta de un suministro continuo a cualquier hora del d\u00eda suele considerarse el tal\u00f3n de Aquiles de la energ\u00eda solar. Para paliarlo, se van planteando soluciones que permitan aprovechar este tipo de energ\u00eda renovable&nbsp;en cualquier momento, tal como sucede con la&nbsp;tecnolog\u00eda V2G&nbsp;que recurre a las bater\u00edas de los coches el\u00e9ctricos para estabilizar la red.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ESCAT\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/image-45.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54835\" width=\"529\" height=\"245\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Energ\u00eda solar de noche (gracias a la radiaci\u00f3n infrarroja)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La c\u00e1lida baldosa veraniega de la que habl\u00e1bamos al principio forma parte de un fen\u00f3meno por el que&nbsp;la tierra se enfr\u00eda cada noche emitiendo radiaci\u00f3n infrarroja&nbsp;al espacio exterior. Es el tipo de radiaci\u00f3n que captan las c\u00e1maras de visi\u00f3n nocturna y que permiten ver a seres vivos de sangre caliente o el motor de un coche en marcha. Hasta ahora esa energ\u00eda tan solo se pod\u00eda aprovechar para sistemas de vigilancia o monitorizaci\u00f3n de fauna&nbsp;gracias a los visores que hemos mencionado. Y ha sido partiendo de esos sensores como los cient\u00edficos de la UNSW han dado con la soluci\u00f3n para captar energ\u00eda solar de noche y convertirla en electricidad. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Concretamente, y&nbsp;bas\u00e1ndose en modelos matem\u00e1ticos desarrollados por el mismo laboratorio, han utilizado un dispositivo semiconductor conocido como diodo termoradiante. En lugar de utilizarlo para captar im\u00e1genes, lo han empleado para generar electricidad a partir de la emisi\u00f3n de radiaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica infrarroja. Es cierto que, por el momento, la energ\u00eda generada es&nbsp;cien mil veces menor que la obtenida de un panel fotovoltaico.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ESCAT\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/image-42.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54825\" width=\"508\" height=\"508\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Sin embargo, los cient\u00edficos indican que la primera c\u00e9lula fotovoltaica de silicio, desarrollada por los laboratorios Bell en 1954, apenas ofrec\u00eda una&nbsp;eficiencia del 2 %. Hoy los paneles fotovoltaicos m\u00e1s avanzados&nbsp;superan el 20 %.&nbsp;El equipo de desarrollo cree firmemente que su nuevo enfoque tecnol\u00f3gico puede hacer avances similares. T\u00e9cnicamente, podr\u00eda llegar a alcanzar la d\u00e9cima parte de la eficiencia de un panel solar convencional.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ESCAT\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/image-43.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54827\" width=\"430\" height=\"241\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Una de las propuestas pasa, por sacar partido al enfriamiento de los paneles solares por la noche al emitir la radiaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica infrarroja hacia el espacio exterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Sin embargo los cient\u00edficos estadounidenses han aprovechado el diferencial de temperatura&nbsp;&nbsp;entre los paneles y el aire a\u00fan caliente que hay alrededor. Para ello han empleado un generador termoel\u00e9ctrico, tambi\u00e9n conocido como TEG por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">La ventaja de estos generadores termoel\u00e9ctricos es que tambi\u00e9n producen electricidad al calentarse. Por \u00faltimo. La tecnolog\u00eda podr\u00eda a\u00f1adirse a los paneles solares fotovoltaicos para&nbsp;generar energ\u00eda solar de noche y de d\u00eda en un solo dispositivo. En este caso, el principal obst\u00e1culo reside en la escasa energ\u00eda generada que se mide en milivatios y en la reducida ventana de oportunidad para hacerlo, ya que los TEG solo funcionan durante el proceso de enfriamiento o calentamiento.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"715\" height=\"419\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ESCAT\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/image-44.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54833\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Aplicaciones en el mundo real: wearables y sensores<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Es probable que la energ\u00eda solar nocturna no sirva para mantener el frigor\u00edfico en funcionamiento por la noche o hacer una colada con la lavadora. No obstante, tal como sucede con la energ\u00eda triboel\u00e9ctrica.&nbsp; cuenta con un inmenso potencial. Por un lado, podr\u00eda mantener el suministro el\u00e9ctrico de sensores&nbsp;y dispositivos IoT en lugares remotos tras el atardecer, especialmente en pa\u00edses c\u00e1lidos. Por otro lado, al convertir la radiaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica infrarroja en electricidad, uno de los grandes beneficiados ser\u00edan los wearables o ponibles, tales como las pulseras deportivas o la ropa inteligente. Es m\u00e1s, los investigadores aventuran un futuro en el que dispositivos bi\u00f3nicos como los corazones artificiales&nbsp;se alimenten con el calor corporal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Producir energ\u00eda solar de noche&nbsp;podr\u00eda ser una realidad a lo largo de la pr\u00f3xima d\u00e9cada seg\u00fan afirman los inventores de la universidad australiana.
