El Top Chess Engine Championship (TCEC)<\/strong><\/strong> es un torneo reservado para m\u00e1quinas, o mejor dicho, motores ajedrec\u00edsticos que compiten entre s\u00ed. Estos motores dejar\u00edan en muy mal lugar a cualquier jugador humano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

El avance de la inteligencia artificial en el ajedrez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El desarrollo de motores de ajedrez<\/strong> lleva d\u00e9cadas en marcha. Sin embargo, el punto culminante de este esfuerzo se produjo en 1997, cuando Deep Blue<\/strong> venci\u00f3 al campe\u00f3n del mundo, Garry Kasparov, en un ‘match’ a seis partidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Varios avances tecnol\u00f3gicos marcaron esta evoluci\u00f3n. Algunos de estos motores ya no necesitaban supercomputadoras para ofrecer su m\u00e1ximo potencial. Un buen ejemplo es Fritz<\/strong>, el legendario programa publicado por ChessBase. En 1995, Fritz gan\u00f3 el World Computer Chess Championship<\/strong>, imponi\u00e9ndose al prototipo de lo que ser\u00eda Deep Blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La clasificaci\u00f3n ELO en motores de ajedrez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La competencia por crear el motor de ajedrez m\u00e1s potente<\/strong> pronto se volvi\u00f3 fren\u00e9tica. Aparecieron varios campeonatos y sistemas de calificaci\u00f3n ELO adaptados, otorgados por diferentes organismos. Estas asociaciones fueron las encargadas de ofrecer las valoraciones ELO estimadas de estos programas.<\/p>\n\n\n

Es importante tener en cuenta que estas puntuaciones ELO no son exactamente comparables a las de los jugadores humanos. Actualmente, Magnus Carlsen<\/strong> tiene 2.840 puntos ELO seg\u00fan la FIDE<\/strong>. Sin embargo, esto no significa que un motor con la misma puntuaci\u00f3n ELO est\u00e9 “empatado” con el gran maestro noruego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La b\u00fasqueda del mejor motor de ajedrez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La competitividad por determinar cu\u00e1l es el mejor motor de ajedrez del mundo<\/strong> ha dado lugar a diversas listas de clasificaci\u00f3n. Estas listas afirman ser las m\u00e1s coherentes y “oficiales”. Lo mismo ocurre con los campeonatos, como el TCEC<\/strong>, que buscan dilucidar qu\u00e9 programa es el mejor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
