Esta terapia con medicamentos activados por la luz de un <em>LED<\/em> diminuto que combate c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Investigadores de la Universidad de <em>Notre Dame<\/em> han creado un dispositivo <em>LED<\/em> implantable inal\u00e1mbrico para el tratamiento de &#8220;c\u00e1nceres profundamente arraigados&#8221;.<br><br>Hasta ahora, la fototerapia ha sido ineficaz ya que estos tumores se esconden profundamente en el cuerpo, rodeados por una compleja red de tejido, sangre y hueso que protege a las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas del poder curativo de la luz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dispositivo LED<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Los ingenieros y cient\u00edficos han desarrollado este nuevo dispositivo <em>LED<\/em> inal\u00e1mbrico que funciona directamente sobre el tumor. <br><br>Este dispositivo del tama\u00f1o de un grano de arroz consta de un tinte sensible a la luz y tiene un efecto doble. La luz activa el tinte, volviendo t\u00f3xico el ox\u00edgeno de las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Este tratamiento tambi\u00e9n desencadena un tipo espec\u00edfico de muerte celular, que es particularmente bueno para alertar al sistema inmunol\u00f3gico sobre la amenaza.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ESCAT\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image-96.png\" alt=\"LED Diminuto que Combate C\u00e9lulas de C\u00e1ncer\" class=\"wp-image-68902\" width=\"712\" height=\"503\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">&#8220;Ciertos colores de luz penetran m\u00e1s profundamente en el tejido que otros&#8221;, dijo Thomas O&#8217;Sullivan, profesor asociado de ingenier\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica y coautor del art\u00edculo.<br><br>&#8220;Resulta que el tipo de luz, en este caso verde, que no penetra tan profundamente, tiene la capacidad de producir una respuesta m\u00e1s potente contra las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo funciona?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Este dispositivo funciona mediante un proceso de varios pasos. Primero, se administra a las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas un tinte que contiene mol\u00e9culas sensibles a la luz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Se inyecta directamente en un tumor canceroso y se activa de forma remota mediante una antena externa. El tinte absorbe la luz y la convierte en energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-rmn\">Esta explosi\u00f3n de energ\u00eda dentro de las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas funciona: convierte su propio ox\u00edgeno en t\u00f3xico, llev\u00e1ndolas a la autodestrucci\u00f3n. Este fen\u00f3meno de muerte celular se conoce como piroptosis.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ESCAT\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image-97.png\" alt=\"LED Diminuto que Combate C\u00e9lulas de C\u00e1ncer\" class=\"wp-image-68903\" width=\"602\" height=\"449\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-rmn\">&#8220;Nuestro objetivo es inducir un poco de muerte celular piropt\u00f3tica, lo que luego har\u00e1 que el sistema inmunol\u00f3gico comience a atacar el c\u00e1ncer&#8221;, dijo Bradley Smith, profesor de qu\u00edmica y bioqu\u00edmica y coautor del art\u00edculo. <br> <br>Smith agreg\u00f3: \u201cTrabajando juntos, la estudiante de posgrado en bioqu\u00edmica, Hailey Sanders, y el estudiante de posgrado en ingenier\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica, SungHoon Rho, notaron perspicazmente que las c\u00e9lulas tratadas se estaban hinchando, lo cual es el sello distintivo de un tipo de muerte celular, la piroptosis, que es particularmente buena para desencadenar la respuesta inmune\u201d.  <br> <br>La siguiente etapa ser\u00e1 probar esta novedosa tecnolog\u00eda en ratones. El comunicado de prensa explica que la idea es descubrir si el sistema inmunol\u00f3gico puede detectar y atacar otro tumor por s\u00ed solo despu\u00e9s de haber sido preparado con un tratamiento. Esto podr\u00eda suponer un cambio importante en la lucha contra los tumores profundamente arraigados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Los investigadores imaginan este dispositivo como una herramienta con m\u00faltiples talentos.
