Protagonizaron el estreno de 3 de marzo de 1875\u00a0C\u00e9lestine Galli-Mari\u00e9\u00a0(Carmen),\u00a0Paul Lh\u00e9rie\u00a0(Don Jos\u00e9).<\/p>\n<p>Bizet alcanz\u00f3 a firmar el contrato para el montaje de la \u00f3pera en Viena un d\u00eda antes de su muerte. La obra fue aclamada por el p\u00fablico, y elogiada por\u00a0Johannes Brahms. Desde entonces tuvo una fulgurante carrera internacional: Londres, Nueva York, Melbourne, San Petersburgo y Madrid, entre otras ciudades, hasta que en 1883 se present\u00f3 nuevamente en Par\u00eds, ganando de esta vez el coraz\u00f3n de los franceses.<sup id=\"cite_ref-folha_10-0\" class=\"reference separada\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Carmen modific\u00f3 decididamente la \u00f3pera francesa y es vista como la gran anticipaci\u00f3n de la escuela italiana conocida como &#8220;verismo&#8221;. Fue considerada por el fil\u00f3sofo alem\u00e1n\u00a0Friedrich Nietzsche\u00a0como una respuesta latina a la est\u00e9tica wagneriana.<\/p>\n<p><sup id=\"cite_ref-folha_10-1\" class=\"reference separada\"><\/sup>Hoy es la \u00f3pera francesa m\u00e1s famosa e interpretada en el mundo entero.\u00a0<i>Carmen<\/i>\u00a0es una de las \u00f3peras m\u00e1s destacadas del repertorio oper\u00edstico est\u00e1ndar y aparece en tercera posici\u00f3n en la lista de\u00a0Operabase\u00a0de las \u00f3peras m\u00e1s representadas en todo el mundo en el per\u00edodo 2005-2010.<sup id=\"cite_ref-11\" class=\"reference separada\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>En\u00a0Espa\u00f1a\u00a0se estren\u00f3 en el Teatre L\u00edric de\u00a0Barcelona\u00a0el 2 de agosto de 1881, con la actuaci\u00f3n de Celestina Galli-Marie, que hab\u00eda estrenado el papel.
