NASA\u2019s Perseverance rover, which landed on the planet in 2021, recorded sounds and signals that suggest electrical activity in Mars\u2019s atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers from France analyzed the data and found signs of what they call \u201cmini lightning\u201d or electrical discharges. These signals appeared near dust devils and dust storms, which are common on Mars. Dust devils form when hot air rises from the ground and can create electrical charges as they move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If confirmed, this discovery would be important for understanding Mars\u2019s climate and atmosphere. It could place Mars alongside Earth, Jupiter, and Saturn, which are known to have lightning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, some scientists remain cautious.
