It&#8217;s most commonly used as a verb:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I <strong>travel <\/strong>to work by bus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We <strong>travelled<\/strong> all around India.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We also use &#8216;travelling&#8217; (sometimes with &#8216;go&#8217; or &#8216;do&#8217;) to talk about the activity of going to new places:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I love <strong>travelling<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She went <strong>travelling <\/strong>for a year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He spends most of his money on <strong>travelling<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They don&#8217;t do much <strong>travelling <\/strong>these days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Travel&#8217; can also be a noun. In this case it means &#8216;the general activity of going to new places&#8217;. We also use it in expressions like &#8216;a travel agency&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Travel <\/strong>is easier than ever now.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We don&#8217;t say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><del>How was your travel?<\/del><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><del><\/del><del>It was a good travel.<\/del><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Journey<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ehli\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/journey-road-190730.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8693\" width=\"380\" height=\"213\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>A journey is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">distance or the movement from one place to another<\/span>. It&#8217;s usually a noun. We don&#8217;t usually use it when we walk or cycle somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>journey <\/strong>to Japan took 15 hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How was your <strong>journey<\/strong>?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>journey <\/strong>to Scotland from London is very quick by train.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>journey <\/strong>to work takes twenty five minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trip<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ehli\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/trip.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8691\" width=\"318\" height=\"211\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Trip is a noun that means <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">going somewhere to do something and coming back<\/span>. We often say &#8216;go on a trip&#8217;. A trip usually includes more than one journey. We have different kinds of trips, like business trips or day trips (a day trip means you go on the morning and come home in the evening of the same day).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We went on a <strong>trip <\/strong>to Spain. (This includes two journeys &#8211; one from London to Spain and one from Spain to London.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They went on a day <strong>trip <\/strong>to the beach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you going on many business <strong>trips <\/strong>this year?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>trip <\/strong>was really fun.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How was your <strong>trip<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voyage<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ehli\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Ancient-Voyages.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8694\" width=\"508\" height=\"267\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>We hardly ever use this word now.
