Usually it&#8217;s some kind of official timetable or something that has been arranged. It&#8217;s often used with verbs like &#8216;<em>start<\/em>&#8216;, &#8216;<em>finish<\/em>&#8216;, &#8216;<em>leave<\/em>&#8216; and &#8216;<em>arrive<\/em>&#8216;.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uninter.edu.mx\/ehli\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/start-work-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9076\" width=\"340\" height=\"204\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He<strong> is due to<\/strong> <em>start <\/em>work next Monday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They <strong>are due to<\/strong> <em>arrive <\/em>at 3:15.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We can also use &#8216;<strong>was \/ were due to<\/strong>&#8216; to say that something was scheduled or planned in the past.
