During this first month of the year we have a main festivity and this is the “Día de Reyes.” During this tradition that takes place the night of January 6th people gathered with their family and all together they cut a “rosca de reyes” which is a bread with a rounded shape, this is because it evoques a crown, it also has some candied fruit and solid jam that work as decorations and you can find them in the top of the bread, they evoque the jewels of the crown. This is because the bread looks like in some way as the crown that the oriental kings that were searching for the baby borned in Jerusalem wore. According to the Jewish – Christian believe.
The agricultural products that are used to bake this product are wheat, orange and acitron on the other han, for its decoration are essential ingredients the fig, cherry, guava, quince and golden delicious, these last three are used to create the jam that is used.
