As exchange students, immersing ourselves in the local culture is one of the most exciting aspects of the journey. This year, Eugénie, a student from Belgium, had the unique opportunity to experience the vibrant traditions of Mexico at the Tlatenango fair. In her heartfelt note, Eugenie shares her impressions of this lively celebration, from the rich flavors to rides in mechanical games. Join us as we dive into her personal account of the fair, a blend of awe, joy, and cultural discovery.
Living in Cuernavaca, I recently had the chance to visit the local funfair. The festive atmosphere was contagious, with colorful lights, lively music, and the scent of delicious street food filling the air.
I couldn’t resist trying some local treats like tacos and churros, along with refreshing aguas frescas. One of the most thrilling moments was riding in egg-shaped cars that spun at high speed, making me laugh uncontrollably. It was a day filled with fun, flavors, and excitement that made me appreciate the charm of Cuernavaca even more.
Fench version:
Thank you Eugénie for sharing your experience with us and we hope you continue enjoying Cuernavaca, its culture and traditions!
